08266820 RED RIVER BELOW FISH HATCHERY, QUESTA, NM  2/15 07:45 4.21 36 42.0

Red River – No report.
Rio Grande –  458 cfs at Pilar; Fishing is slow for pike due to high fishing pressure and clear water. You can see them but they are not biting. Best to try using bunny leeches. Trout is slow using midges and bead-head nymphs. Fishing is poor for smallmouth bass.
Chama River – Fishing below Cooper’s lodge is fair with a few browns being taken on wooly buggers and black and gold Panther Martins. The water is running at 45 cfs. Rainbows are being caught on nightcrawlers
Gila River – Fishing pressure is very light. A small load of retired Gila trout brood stock were stocked at the forks last week.
Rio Grande – Fishing has been fair between Elephant Butte and Caballo for stocked triploid rainbows
